Arabic hadith text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ الأَجْرُ وَالْمَغْنَمُ " .
Translation
Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna and Muhammad bin Bashshar narrated to us: Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Husain, from Ash-Sha'bi, from 'Urwah bin Abi Al-Ja'd, who heard the Prophet say: 'Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection: reward and spoils.'
