Sunan an-Nasa'i 1395
Arabic hadith text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ الإِمَامُ فَلْيُصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ .
Translation
Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-A‘la informed us; he said: Khalid narrated to us; he said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Dinar, who said: I heard Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When one of you arrives after the imam has come out, let him pray two rak‘ahs.” Shu‘bah said: This was on Friday.
