أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْحُومٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّامْرَأَةً، عَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَضَحِكَتِ ابْنَةُ أَنَسٍ فَقَالَتْ مَا كَانَ أَقَلَّ حَيَاءَهَا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكِ عَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏
Translation
It was narrated from Anas that a woman offered herself in marriage to the Prophet. The daughter of Anas laughed and said

"How little was her modesty." Anas said: "She was better than you; she offered herself in marriage to the Prophet."
