This comprehensive supplication encompasses seven major spiritual and worldly afflictions from which the believer seeks Allah's protection.
Worry (al-Hamm) refers to anxiety about future uncertainties, while Grief (al-Hazan) concerns sorrow over past losses. The Prophet taught us to seek refuge from both temporal states that distract from remembrance of Allah.
