Moderation in the Khutbah
Arabic hadith text
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلمفَكَانَتْ صَلاَتُهُ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا .
Translation
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said
"I used to pray with the Prophet (ﷺ) and his prayer was moderate in length and his Khutbah was moderate in length."
