Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

On the authority of Abu Malik al-Harith ibn ‘Asim al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Purification is half of faith. ‘Praise be to Allah’ fills the Scale, and ‘Glory be to Allah’ and ‘Praise be to Allah’—or: ‘Praise be to Allah’—fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light; charity is proof; patience is radiance; and the Qur’an is an argument for you or against you. Every person sets out in the morning, selling his soul, either freeing it or bringing it to ruin.” [Narrated by Muslim].

  • وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَآنِ -أَوْ: تَمْلَأُ- مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ،

The Arabic explicitly preserves a wording alternative: the two phrases “fill” (dual) or the latter alone “fills.” This variant distinction is rendered but its textual basis is not supplied.

Can the alternative reading and its scope be checked against the cited source edition?
