Arabic hadith text
وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: جاء رجل إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: يا رسول الله كيف تقول في رجل أحب قومًا ولم يلحق بهم؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :" المرء مع من أحب" ((متفق عليه)) .
Translation
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported
A man came to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! What do you think of a man who loves some people but does not go any nearer to their position?" He (ﷺ) replied, "A man will be with those whom he loves".[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
