حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْقُدُّوسِ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " فِي هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ خَسْفٌ وَمَسْخٌ وَقَذْفٌ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَتَى ذَاكَ قَالَ " إِذَا ظَهَرَتِ الْقَيْنَاتُ وَالْمَعَازِفُ وَشُرِبَتِ الْخُمُورُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُرْسَلاً وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ .

‘Abbad ibn Ya‘qub al-Kufi narrated to us: ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Quddus narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Hilal ibn Yasaf, from ‘Imran ibn Husayn, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘In this community there will be sinking of the earth, transformation, and pelting with stones.’ A Muslim man said, ‘Messenger of Allah, when will that be?’ He replied, ‘When singing women and musical instruments become widespread and wine is drunk.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith has also been narrated from al-A‘mash, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Sabit, from the Prophet, in mursal form. This is a gharib hadith.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The source uses الْقَيْنَاتُ for women singers and lists musical instruments and wine as signs preceding the calamities.
قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُرْسَلاً وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ .
The Arabic adds an alternate mursal route through ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Sabit after the main report; the English witness omits this route note.
Include the alternate route and preserve its mursal status.
