Maḥmūd ibn Ghaylān narrated to us; Abū Dāwūd narrated to us, from Shu‘bah, from Yaḥyā ibn Sa‘īd, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The conquest of Constantinople will coincide with the Hour.
He said: This is a gharīb hadith. Constantinople is the city of the Romans; it will be conquered at the emergence of the Dajjāl. Constantinople was already conquered during the time of some of the Prophet’s Companions.

The English witness gives only Anas’s statement; the Arabic source continues with a compiler’s explanation and historical comment.
The source includes an explanatory note that Constantinople had already been conquered in the time of some Companions.
Should this compiler’s note be aligned with another English witness?
