Commentary on the Physical Description

The blindness in one eye signifies both a physical defect and spiritual deficiency. While Allah is perfect without any imperfections, this false messiah (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal) has a defective eye, symbolizing his distorted perception of truth and reality.

The phrase "written between his eyes is: Kafir" indicates that his disbelief is manifest and apparent to every true believer, even if some may be deceived by his false miracles and claims.

Prophetic Continuity of Warning

The hadith emphasizes that every prophet before Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned their respective nations about this great trial. This establishes the Dajjal as the ultimate test of faith that transcends time and nations.

This universal warning demonstrates the severity of this trial and the importance of being prepared through firm faith and knowledge of authentic Islamic teachings.

Spiritual Significance

The contrast between the Dajjal's one-eyed state and Allah's perfection teaches Muslims to recognize that anything claiming divinity while possessing imperfections is false.

This description serves as a divine criterion for distinguishing truth from falsehood, reminding believers that true divinity is beyond any physical limitations or defects.

Practical Implications

Muslims should memorize and reflect upon the descriptions of Dajjal to recognize him when he appears and avoid being deceived by his apparent miracles.

The final part of Surah Al-Kahf provides protection against the Dajjal's fitnah, and regular recitation is recommended as a means of spiritual safeguard.
