حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ الأَشْهَلِيُّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَقْتُلُوا إِمَامَكُمْ وَتَجْتَلِدُوا بِأَسْيَافِكُمْ وَيَرِثَ دُنْيَاكُمْ شِرَارُكُمْ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو .

Qutaybah narrated to us: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Abi ‘Amr, from ‘Abd Allah—namely, ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Ansari al-Ashhali—from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not come until you kill your leader, fight one another with your swords, and the worst of you inherit your worldly life.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. We know it only through the narration of ‘Amr ibn Abi ‘Amr.

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو .
The English witness gives the prophetic warning but omits Abu ‘Isa’s route-specific note that the report is known only through ‘Amr ibn Abi ‘Amr.
