حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ, قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَطَرِ بْنِ عُكَامِسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِأَرْضٍ جَعَلَ لَهُ إِلَيْهَا حَاجَةً " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي عَزَّةَ . وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ . وَلاَ يُعْرَفُ لِمَطَرِ بْنِ عُكَامِسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَيْرُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، نَحْوَهُ .

Bun dar narrated to us: Mu’ammal narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Matar ibn ‘Ukamis, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘When Allah decrees that a servant die in a land, He creates for him a need that takes him there.’ Abu ‘Isa said: There is a report on this topic from Abu ‘Azzah. This is a hasan gharib hadith. Nothing else is known from Matar ibn ‘Ukamis from the Prophet. Mahmud ibn Ghaylan narrated to us: Mu’ammal and Abu Dawud al-Hafari narrated to us, from Sufyan, something similar.
