حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ رُؤْيَا النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ قَالَ " رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ اجْتَمَعُوا فَنَزَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ ذَنُوبَيْنِ فِيهِ ضَعْفٌ وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ عُمَرُ فَنَزَعَ فَاسْتَحَالَتْ غَرْبًا فَلَمْ أَرَ عَبْقَرِيًّا يَفْرِي فَرِيَّهُ حَتَّى ضَرَبَ النَّاسُ بِعَطَنٍ " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ .

Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us: Abū ʿĀṣim narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj informed us: Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah informed me: Sālim ibn ʿAbdullāh informed me, from ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar, concerning a vision of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abū Bakr, and ʿUmar. He said: 'I saw people gathered. Abū Bakr drew one or two buckets, but there was some weakness in his drawing—may Allah forgive him. Then ʿUmar stood and drew, and the bucket became a huge one. I have never seen a masterful man do such work until the people had watered their camels at the troughs.' Reports on this subject are also related from Abū Hurayrah. This is a ṣaḥīḥ gharīb report from Ibn ʿUmar.
