‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘No person is killed unjustly without the son of Adam bearing a share of its blood, because he was the first to institute killing.’ ‘Abd al-Razzaq’s wording is: ‘He instituted killing.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’ Ibn Abi ‘Umar narrated a similar report in meaning through Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah, from al-A‘mash, with the wording ‘he instituted killing.’

The source preserves a wording variant in the verb ‘instituted killing’; it does not name the son of Adam in this excerpt.
