حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ قُرَيْشٍ الْيَامِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ لَيْلَةَ، أُسْرِيَ بِهِ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَمُرَّ عَلَى مَلإٍ مِنَ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِلاَّ أَمَرُوهُ أَنْ مُرْ أُمَّتَكَ بِالْحِجَامَةِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ .

Ahmad ibn Budayl ibn Quraysh al-Yami al-Kufi narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us; ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from al-Qasim ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman—he is the son of ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud—from his father, from Ibn Mas‘ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about the night he was taken on the Night Journey: He did not pass by any gathering of angels without their instructing him, ‘Tell your community to practice cupping.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan gharib hadith, narrated from Ibn Mas‘ud.
