Abu ‘Ubaydah Ahmad ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Hamdani—who is Ibn Abi al-Safar—and Mahmud ibn Ghaylan narrated to us; they said: Sa‘id ibn ‘Amir narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘The ‘Ajwah is from Paradise, and it contains a remedy for poison. Truffles are a form of manna, and their water is a remedy for the eye.’ Abu ‘Isa said: There are reports on this topic from Sa‘id ibn Zayd, Abu Sa‘id, and Jabir. This is a hasan gharib hadith through this route; we know it only through the narration of Sa‘id ibn ‘Amir from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr.
