Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Mu‘adh ibn Hisham narrated to us; his father narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abu Hurayrah: Some of the Prophet’s Companions said, ‘Truffles are the earth’s smallpox.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘Truffles are a form of manna, and their water is a remedy for the eye. The ‘Ajwah is from Paradise, and it is a remedy for poison.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan hadith.
