Translation

Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Mu‘adh narrated to us; his father narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said: I was told that Abu Hurayrah said, ‘I took three truffles—or five or seven—and squeezed them. I put their liquid in a small bottle and applied it as kohl to a young female servant of mine, and she recovered.’

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The report is transmitted indirectly (‘I was told’). The number of truffles is explicitly uncertain: three, five, or seven.
