حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قال حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قال حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ الشُّونِيزُ دَوَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ إِلاَّ السَّامَ . قَالَ قَتَادَةُ يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ حَبَّةً فَيَجْعَلُهُنَّ فِي خِرْقَةٍ فَلْيَنْقَعْهُ فَيَتَسَعَّطُ بِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ فِي مَنْخَرِهِ الأَيْمَنِ قَطْرَتَيْنِ وَفِي الأَيْسَرِ قَطْرَةً وَالثَّانِي فِي الأَيْسَرِ قَطْرَتَيْنِ وَفِي الأَيْمَنِ قَطْرَةً وَالثَّالِثُ فِي الأَيْمَنِ قَطْرَتَيْنِ وَفِي الأَيْسَرِ قَطْرَةً .

Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Mu‘adh ibn Hisham narrated to us; his father narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said: I was told that Abu Hurayrah said, ‘Black seed is a remedy for every illness except death.’ Qatadah said: One takes twenty-one seeds each day and places them in a cloth, then soaks them. Each day, the liquid is administered nasally: on the first day, two drops in the right nostril and one in the left; on the second, two in the left and one in the right; on the third, two in the right and one in the left.
