Translation

Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

Al-Bara’ reported—though Abu Ishaq did not hear this directly from him—that Allah’s Messenger passed some Ansar sitting along the road and said: ‘If you must sit there, then return greetings of peace, help the oppressed, and guide the wayfarer.’

There are reports on this topic from Abu Hurayrah and Abu Shurayh al-Khuza‘i. Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan gharib hadith.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The chain explicitly notes that Abu Ishaq did not hear this report directly from al-Bara’. The English witness presents the chain wording awkwardly; the interruption is retained here.
