حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهَا " إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلاَمَ " . قَالَتْ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَيْضًا عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ .

Abu Salamah reported that ‘A’ishah told him that Allah’s Messenger said to her, ‘Jibril sends you greetings of peace.’ She replied, ‘And upon him be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.’
There is also a report on this topic from a man of Banu Numayr, from his father, from his grandfather. Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith. Al-Zuhri also transmitted it from Abu Salamah, from ‘A’ishah.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic specifies that Jibril sends ‘A’ishah greetings of peace (yuqri’uki al-salam); this has been rendered idiomatically.
