حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كَيْفَ أَنْعَمُ وَقَدِ الْتَقَمَ صَاحِبُ الْقَرْنِ الْقَرْنَ وَحَنَى جَبْهَتَهُ وَأَصْغَى سَمْعَهُ يَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ يُؤْمَرَ أَنْ يَنْفُخَ فَيَنْفُخَ " . قَالَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ فَكَيْفَ نَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " قُولُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ تَوَكَّلْنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا " . وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الأَعْمَشُ أَيْضًا عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ .

Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘How can I be at ease when the one who holds the Trumpet has put it to his mouth, bowed his forehead, and inclined his ear, waiting for the command to blow so that he may blow?’ The Muslims asked, ‘What should we say, Messenger of Allah?’ He replied, ‘Say: “Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs. We place our trust in Allah, our Lord.”’ Sufyan sometimes said: ‘Upon Allah we place our trust.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. Al-A‘mash also narrated it from ‘Atiyyah, from Abu Sa‘id.
