حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الْمُؤْمِنُ إِذَا اشْتَهَى الْوَلَدَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ كَانَ حَمْلُهُ وَوَضْعُهُ وَسِنُّهُ فِي سَاعَةٍ كَمَا يَشْتَهِي " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ . وَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي هَذَا فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ جِمَاعٌ وَلاَ يَكُونُ وَلَدٌ . هَكَذَا رُوِيَ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ وَمُجَاهِدٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ . وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي حَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا اشْتَهَى الْمُؤْمِنُ الْوَلَدَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ كَانَ فِي سَاعَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ كَمَا يَشْتَهِي " . وَلَكِنْ لاَ يَشْتَهِي . قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لاَ يَكُونُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا وَلَدٌ " . وَأَبُو الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيُّ اسْمُهُ بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَيُقَالُ بَكْرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ أَيْضًا .

Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘When a believer in Paradise desires a child, its gestation, birth, and growth to the desired age will all take place in a single hour, as he wishes.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan gharīb.’
Scholars differed on this matter. Some said that there is sexual intercourse in Paradise but no children; this was related from Tawus, Mujahid, and Ibrahim al-Nakha‘i. Muhammad said that, regarding the Prophet’s report, ‘When a believer in Paradise desires a child, it will happen in a single hour as he wishes,’ Ishaq ibn Ibrahim said, ‘But he will not desire it.’ Muhammad also said that it was related from Abu Razin al-‘Uqayli that the Prophet said: ‘The people of Paradise will have no children there.’ Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji’s name was Bakr ibn ‘Amr; it is also said that it was Bakr ibn Qays.

The source includes the hadith’s hasan gharīb grading, scholarly disagreement and attributions, and the two reported forms of Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji’s name. ‘Growth to the desired age’ clarifies the Arabic wording for a child’s age being completed in an hour; the English witness says ‘complete his aging.’
