It has also been narrated from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz’, similarly. Ahmad ibn Khalid al-Khallal narrated this to us: Yahya ibn Ishaq al-Saylahani narrated to us: al-Layth ibn Sa‘d narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz’, who said: The laughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was nothing but a smile. Abu ‘Isa said: This is a sahih gharib hadith. We know it only through this route from the hadith of al-Layth ibn Sa‘d.
