Qutaybah narrated to us: al-Layth narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The Prophets were shown to me. Musa was a lean man, as though he were one of the men of Shanu’ah. I saw ‘Isa ibn Maryam, and of those I have seen, the most closely resembling him was ‘Urwah ibn Mas‘ud. I saw Ibrahim, and of those I have seen, the one who most closely resembled him was your companion himself’—meaning himself. ‘And I saw Jibril, and of those I have seen, the one who most closely resembled him was Dihyah’—that is, Ibn Khalifah al-Kalbi. Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith.
