حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ، وَالأَعْمَشِ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صُهْبَانَ، وَابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، وَكَثِيرٍ النَّوَّاءِ، كُلِّهِمْ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلَى لَيَرَاهُمْ مَنْ تَحْتَهُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ النَّجْمَ الطَّالِعَ فِي أُفُقِ السَّمَاءِ وَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَنْعَمَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ .
Qutaybah narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi Hafsah, al-A‘mash, ‘Abdullah ibn Suhban, Ibn Abi Layla, and Kathir al-Nawwa’, all from ‘Atiyyah, from Abu Sa‘id, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The people of the highest ranks will be seen by those below them as you see a star rising on the horizon of the sky. Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are among them—and how excellent they are!’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. It has also been narrated through more than one route from ‘Atiyyah, from Abu Sa‘id.
