Ziyad ibn Ayyub al-Baghdadi narrated to us: Abu Tumaylah narrated to us, from Abd al-Mu’min ibn Khalid, from Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from his mother, from Umm Salamah, who said: The garment most beloved to the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) was the qamis (shirt).
He said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ismail say: The report of Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from his mother, from Umm Salamah, is more sound. In it, only Abu Tumaylah is mentioned as reporting from his mother.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The English witness gives only the main report and omits the Arabic chain and the concluding statement attributed to Muhammad ibn Ismail. The last clause is translated literally; the precise referent of ‘in it’ is not specified further.
Qamis is retained with the gloss ‘shirt,’ as the Arabic names the garment but does not add a longer description.

The English witness omits the Arabic editorial statement that Muhammad ibn Ismail preferred the report through Abdullah ibn Buraydah’s mother and commented on Abu Tumaylah’s route.
Was this chain evaluation intentionally omitted from the English rendering?
