Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The English witness summarizes this entry as ‘Another chain from Abu al-Malih from his father’ and omits the transmitters Muhammad ibn Bashshar, Yahya ibn Sa‘id, Sa‘id, and Qatadah. Unlike the preceding related report, this Arabic wording states a general prohibition of predatory-animal skins and does not specify use as bedding.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ،
The English witness omits four transmitters preceding Abu al-Malih in the Arabic chain.
Was the named chain intentionally omitted from the English rendering?
