Al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali al-Khallal narrated to us: Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, from Isra’il, with a similar report. Abu Hayyan al-Taymi transmitted this hadith from al-Sha‘bi, from Ibn ‘Umar, from ‘Umar, who said, “Indeed, khamr is made from wheat.” He then mentioned this hadith.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
This is a continuation of the preceding report and supplies two additional transmission forms: a similar report through Isra’il, and Abu Hayyan al-Taymi’s route through al-Sha‘bi, Ibn ‘Umar, and ‘Umar. The English witness compresses these to ‘Umar’ and one sentence.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلاَّلُ،
The English witness omits the first variant chain and the route through Abu Hayyan, al-Sha‘bi, and Ibn Umar.
