Khallad ibn Aslam al-Baghdadi narrated to us: Abd al-Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Ubayd Allah ibn Umar, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Whoever enters ihram for Hajj and Umrah together is served by one circumambulation and one sa'y for both, until he comes out of ihram from them both.’

Abu Isa said: This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith. Al-Darawardi alone transmitted it with this wording. More than one narrator reported it from Ubayd Allah ibn Umar without attributing it to the Prophet, and that version is more sound.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • Sa'y is the ritual walk between Safa and Marwah. The final sentence distinguishes the raised report from the version not attributed directly to the Prophet.
