Ahmad ibn Mani' narrated to us: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that a man asked, ‘Where should we enter ihram, Messenger of Allah?’ He replied, ‘The people of Medina enter ihram at Dhu al-Hulayfah, the people of Syria at al-Juhfah, and the people of Najd at Qarn.’ The narrator added: ‘And the people of Yemen at Yalamlam.’
There are reports on this topic from Ibn Abbas, Jabir ibn Abd Allah, and Abd Allah ibn Amr. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Ibn Umar is hasan sahih, and scholars act on it.
