Qutaybah narrated to us: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Matar al-Warraq, from Rabi'ah ibn Abi Abd al-Rahman, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Abu Rafi', who said: The Messenger of Allah married Maymunah while not in ihram, consummated the marriage while not in ihram, and I was the messenger between them.
Abu Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. We know no one besides Hammad ibn Zayd who transmitted it with a connected chain through Matar al-Warraq from Rabi'ah. Malik ibn Anas narrated from Rabi'ah, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that the Prophet married Maymunah while not in ihram; Malik narrated it with the chain ending there. Sulayman ibn Bilal also narrated it from Rabi'ah with the chain ending there. Abu Isa said: It is also narrated from Maymunah, through Yazid ibn al-Asamm, that she said, ‘The Messenger of Allah married me while not in ihram.’ Yazid ibn al-Asamm was Maymunah's sister's son.
