Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

The report is transmitted through Yahya ibn Yaman, from Sharik, from Abu Ishaq, from Abd Allah ibn Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, who said that the Messenger of Allah said, ‘Whoever circumambulates the House fifty times will emerge free of sins as on the day his mother gave birth to him.’

There are reports on this topic from Anas and Ibn Umar. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Ibn Abbas is gharib. I asked Muhammad about it, and he said: This is only narrated as the statement of Ibn Abbas himself, not as a prophetic report.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • Abu Isa notes that the report is more accurately attributed to Ibn Abbas than to the Prophet.
