حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوْضَعَ فِي وَادِي مُحَسِّرٍ . وَزَادَ فِيهِ بِشْرٌ وَأَفَاضَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ وَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ . وَزَادَ فِيهِ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَرْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ وَقَالَ " لَعَلِّي لاَ أَرَاكُمْ بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Mahmud ibn Ghaylan narrated to us: Waki', Bishr ibn al-Sari, and Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, that the Prophet quickened his pace in the valley of Muhassir. Bishr added: ‘He departed from Muzdalifah calmly and instructed the people to remain calm.’ Abu Nu'aym added: ‘He told them to use pebbles about the size of those flicked between the fingers, and said, “Perhaps I will not see you after this year of mine.”’
There is also a report on this topic from Usamah ibn Zayd. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Jabir is hasan sahih.
