Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us: Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah stone the pillars with pebbles about the size of the small stones flicked between one's fingers.
There are reports on this topic from Sulayman ibn Amr ibn al-Ahwas, from his mother Umm Jundub al-Azdiyyah, Ibn Abbas, al-Fadl ibn Abbas, Abd al-Rahman ibn Uthman al-Taymi, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Mu'adh. Abu Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith. Scholars preferred that the pebbles used for stoning be about the size of stones flicked between the fingers.
