Qutaybah narrated to us from Malik, and he said: Ishaq ibn Musa narrated to us: Ma'n narrated to us: Malik narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Hazm, from his father, from 'Amrah, who informed him that she had heard Aishah. It was mentioned to her that Ibn Umar said, "The deceased is indeed punished because of the living person's weeping over him." Aishah said, "May Allah forgive Abu Abd al-Rahman. He did not lie, but he forgot or made a mistake. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) only passed by a Jewish woman who was being wept over and said, 'They are weeping over her, and she is being punished in her grave.'" Abu Isa said: This is a sahih hadith.

The wording offers two alternatives, forgetting or erring, and quotes Aishah's distinction between punishment alongside the family's weeping and punishment caused by it.

Does the translation preserve both alternatives and the causal distinction in Aishah's correction?
