Abu Musa, Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna, narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us: Yunus ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, from Anas, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to walk ahead of the funeral procession. Abu Isa said: I asked Muhammad about this hadith, and he said: "This hadith is mistaken; Muhammad ibn Bakr erred in it. This hadith is only transmitted from Yunus, from al-Zuhri, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr, and Umar used to walk ahead of the funeral procession." Al-Zuhri said: "Salim informed me that his father used to walk ahead of the funeral procession." Muhammad said: "This is more sound."

The compiler reports a critic's judgment that the version naming Uthman is erroneous and states the alternate transmission.
Does the translation make clear that the criticism concerns this transmission's wording rather than the funeral practice itself?
