Abu Kurayb narrated to us: Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Amr: Abu Salamah narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever performs the funeral prayer over a deceased person receives one qirat. Whoever follows the procession until the burial is completed receives two qirats, one of them—or the smaller of them—being like Mount Uhud.' I mentioned this to Ibn Umar, who sent to Aishah to ask her about it. She said, 'Abu Hurairah spoke the truth.' Ibn Umar said, 'We have missed out on many qirats.' Reports on this topic are also related from al-Bara', Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Abu Sa'id, Ubayy ibn Ka'b, Ibn Umar, and Thawban. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Abu Hurairah is hasan sahih and has been narrated through more than one route.

The Arabic explicitly preserves uncertainty about whether one qirat or the smaller of the two is the size compared with Uhud.

Does this wording retain the alternative without resolving which qirat the comparison describes?
