Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us: al-Hajjaj narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that when the deceased was placed in the grave—the wording from Abu Khalid says, on one occasion, 'when the deceased was placed in the burial niche'—he said on one occasion: 'In the name of Allah, with Allah's help, and according to the way of the Messenger of Allah.' On another occasion he said: 'In the name of Allah, with Allah's help, and according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).' Abu Isa said: This is a hasan gharīb hadith through this route. This hadith has also been narrated by another route from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji also narrated it from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet, and it has also been narrated from Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji, from Ibn Umar, as a statement ending with Ibn Umar.

The source gives two variants in the narrated wording and marks one as Abu Khalid's occasional phrasing; the relation between the placement clause and the formula is compressed.

Does the translation preserve the narrator's variant markers and both formula wordings without merging them?
