Ahmad ibn 'Abdah al-Dabbi al-Basri informed us; Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Suhayb, from Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet ﷺ, when entering the toilet, would say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from al-khubth and al-khabā'ith." Abu 'Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith.

مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
The source uses terms whose interpretation is rendered in the witness as male and female devils, but that gloss is not stated in the Arabic text.
Should a separate translator note explain the conventional gloss after lexical review?
