حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نَحَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ الْبَدَنَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَغَيْرِهِمْ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ . وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ يُجْزِئُ أَيْضًا الْبَعِيرُ عَنْ عَشَرَةٍ . وَاحْتَجَّ بِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .

Qutaybah narrated to us: Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: At al-Hudaybiyyah, we slaughtered a camel on behalf of seven people and a cow on behalf of seven people with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih. The practice among the people of knowledge, including the Companions and others, is based on this. This was the view of Sufyan al-Thawri, Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Shafii, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Ishaq also said that a camel suffices for ten people, citing the hadith of Ibn Abbas as evidence.
