حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، وَهَنَّادٌ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلاَ يُبَالِي مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَسَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَسَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ وَأَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ طَلْحَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَقَالُوا سُتْرَةُ الإِمَامِ سُتْرَةٌ لِمَنْ خَلْفَهُ .

Talhah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "When one of you places before him something like the rear pommel of a saddle, let him pray, and pay no attention to whoever passes beyond it." Reports on this topic are also narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah, Ibn Umar, Sabrah ibn Maabad al-Juhani, Abu Juhaifah, and Aishah. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Talhah is hasan sahih. The scholars acted on this and said that the imam's sutrah serves as a sutrah for those behind him.
