حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهُ " يَا عَلِيُّ ثَلاَثٌ لاَ تُؤَخِّرْهَا الصَّلاَةُ إِذَا آنَتْ وَالْجَنَازَةُ إِذَا حَضَرَتْ وَالأَيِّمُ إِذَا وَجَدْتَ لَهَا كُفْؤًا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ حَسَنٌ .

Qutaybah narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Juhanī, from Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, from his father, from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: “ʿAlī, do not delay three things: the prayer when its time has come; the funeral when it is present; and the marriage of a woman without a husband when you find a suitable match for her.” Abū ʿĪsā said: This hadith is gharīb hasan.
