Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah ordered the killing of the two black creatures during prayer: snakes and scorpions. Reports on this topic are also narrated from Ibn Abbas and Abu Rafi. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah is hasan sahih. Some scholars among the Companions and others acted on this, as did Ahmad and Ishaq. Some scholars disliked killing snakes and scorpions during prayer. Ibrahim said: There is enough to occupy a person in prayer. The first view is sounder.
