حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ جَاءَ الْفُقَرَاءُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الأَغْنِيَاءَ يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي وَيَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ وَلَهُمْ أَمْوَالٌ يُعْتِقُونَ وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ قَالَ " فَإِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ فَقُولُوا سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ مَرَّةً وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ مَرَّةً وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلاَثِينَ مَرَّةً وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنَّكُمْ تُدْرِكُونَ بِهِ مَنْ سَبَقَكُمْ وَلاَ يَسْبِقُكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ وَأَنَسٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِي ذَرٍّ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَحَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ . وَفِي الْبَابِ أَيْضًا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَالْمُغِيرَةِ . وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ " خَصْلَتَانِ لاَ يُحْصِيهِمَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ إِلاَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ يُسَبِّحُ اللَّهَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ عَشْرًا وَيَحْمَدُهُ عَشْرًا وَيُكَبِّرُهُ عَشْرًا وَيُسَبِّحُ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَيَحْمَدُهُ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَيُكَبِّرُهُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلاَثِينَ " .

Ibn Abbas said: The poor came to the Messenger of Allah and said: Messenger of Allah, the rich pray as we pray and fast as we fast, but they have wealth with which they free slaves and give charity. He said: "After each prayer, say Subhan Allah thirty-three times, al-hamdu lillah thirty-three times, Allahu akbar thirty-four times, and la ilaha illa Allah ten times. By this you will catch up with those ahead of you, and those after you will not surpass you." Reports on this topic are also narrated from Kaab ibn Ujrah, Anas, Abdullah ibn Amr, Zayd ibn Thabit, Abu al-Darda, Ibn Umar, and Abu Dharr. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Ibn Abbas is hasan gharib. Reports on this topic are also narrated from Abu Hurayrah and al-Mughirah. It is also reported from the Prophet that he said: "There are two practices that no Muslim maintains without entering Paradise: after every prayer, glorify Allah ten times, praise Him ten times, and magnify Him ten times; and before sleeping, glorify Allah thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four times."
