Abū Mūsā Muḥammad ibn al-Muthannā narrated to us: ʿAffān narrated to us: Hammām narrated to us, from ʿĀmir ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid al-Aḥwal, from Makḥūl, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥayrīz, from Abū Maḥdhūrah, that the Prophet (ﷺ) taught him the adhān with nineteen phrases and the iqāmah with seventeen phrases. Abū ʿĪsā said: This hadith is hasan sahih. Abū Maḥdhūrah’s name was Samurah ibn Miʿyar. Some scholars followed this form of the adhān. It is also reported from Abū Maḥdhūrah that he used to pronounce the iqāmah with its phrases singly.

The compiler says some scholars followed the described adhān form, while also noting that Abū Maḥdhūrah was reported to pronounce the iqāmah singly.
