حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدِ الأَئِمَّةَ وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَسَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ وَعُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَوَاهُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَحَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . وَرَوَى أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . وَرَوَى نَافِعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وسَمِعْت أَبَا زُرْعَةَ ، يَقُولُ : حَدِيثُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وسَمِعْت مُحَمَّدًا ، يَقُولُ : حَدِيثُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَصَحُّ ، وَذَكَرَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُثْبِتْ حَدِيثَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَلَا حَدِيثَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ فِي هَذَا

Hannad narrated to us: Abu al-Ahwas and Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah said: ‘The imam is responsible, and the caller to prayer is entrusted. O Allah, guide the imams and forgive the callers to prayer.’
Abu Isa said: Reports on this subject are also related from A’ishah, Sahl ibn Sa‘d, and Uqbah ibn Amir. He said: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah was narrated by Sufyan al-Thawri, Hafs ibn Ghiyath, and more than one transmitter, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet. Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated from al-A‘mash, who said, ‘I was told from Abu Salih,’ from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet. Nafi ibn Sulayman narrated this hadith from Muhammad ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from A’ishah, from the Prophet. Abu Isa said: I heard Abu Zur‘ah say that the report of Abu Salih from Abu Hurayrah is more sound than that of Abu Salih from A’ishah. Abu Isa said: I heard Muhammad say that the report of Abu Salih from A’ishah is more sound. He also mentioned that Ali ibn al-Madini did not affirm either report in this matter, whether Abu Salih’s report from Abu Hurayrah or his report from A’ishah.

وَذَكَرَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُثْبِتْ حَدِيثَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ،
The source reports different preferences from Abu Zurah and Muhammad, while Ali ibn al-Madini did not affirm either route.
