Ahmad ibn Mani told us: Hammad ibn Khalid al-Khayyat told us, from Ibn Abi Dhib, from al-Zuhri, from al-Saib ibn Yazid, who said: During the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and of Abu Bakr and Umar, the call to prayer was given when the imam came out and when the prayer was begun. During the caliphate of Uthman, he added a third call at al-Zawra. Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih.
