Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet said: ‘This fire of yours, which the children of Adam kindle, is one of seventy parts of the heat of Hell.’ They said, ‘By Allah, Messenger of Allah, this would be enough!’ He said, ‘It has been increased by sixty-nine parts, each of them equal to its heat.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’ Hammam ibn Munabbih was the brother of Wahb ibn Munabbih, who narrated from him.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The source states that the worldly fire is one part out of seventy and that the remaining sixty-nine parts are each equal to its heat; it also identifies Hammam as Wahb’s brother.
