Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah said. Hisham’s version says: ‘Some will come out of the Fire.’ Shu‘bah’s version says: ‘Bring out of the Fire whoever said “There is no god but Allah” and had goodness in his heart weighing as much as a barley grain. Bring out of the Fire whoever said “There is no god but Allah” and had goodness in his heart weighing as much as a wheat grain. Bring out of the Fire whoever said “There is no god but Allah” and had goodness in his heart weighing as much as a tiny speck.’ Shu‘bah pronounced the word for ‘tiny speck’ in a light form. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘I know the last of the people of the Fire to come out of it: a man who will crawl out and say, “My Lord, the people have taken all the places.” It will be said to him, “Go and enter Paradise.” He will go to enter it, but find that the people have taken all the places. He will return and say, “My Lord, the people have taken all the places.” It will be said to him, “Do you remember the time you were in?” He will say, “Yes.” It will be said to him, “Wish for something.” He will wish, and it will be said to him, “You will have what you wished for, and ten times the world.” He will say, “Are You mocking me, though You are the King?”’ Ibn Mas‘ud said: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah laugh until his molars showed.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’

Abu Dharr reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘I know the last of the people of the Fire to come out of it and the last of the people of Paradise to enter it. A man will be brought forward, and it will be said, “Mention his minor sins and conceal his major ones.” Then he will be told, “You did this and that on such-and-such a day, and you did this and that on such-and-such a day.” Then it will be said to him, “In place of each evil deed, you will have a good deed.” He will say, “My Lord, I have done things that I do not see here!”’ Abu Dharr said: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah laugh until his molars showed.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’

Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Some people of monotheism will be punished in the Fire until they become charcoal. Then mercy will reach them, and they will be brought out and laid at the gates of Paradise. The people of Paradise will sprinkle water over them, and they will grow as the flood-borne debris grows; then they will enter Paradise.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih, and it has been narrated from Jabir through more than one route.’

Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet said: ‘Whoever has an atom’s weight of faith in his heart will be brought out of the Fire.’ Abu Sa‘id said: ‘If anyone has doubts, let him recite: “Indeed, Allah does not wrong anyone by even an atom’s weight.”’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’

Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Two men among those who entered the Fire cried out intensely, so the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said, “Bring them out.” When they were brought out, He asked them, “Why did you cry out so intensely?” They said, “We did that so You would show us mercy.” He said, “My mercy for you is that you go and throw yourselves back where you were in the Fire.” They went. One threw himself in, and it became cool and safe for him. The other stood without throwing himself in. The Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said to him, “What kept you from throwing yourself in as your companion did?” He said, “My Lord, I hope You will not return me to it after You brought me out.” The Lord said, “You have what you hoped for.” Then by Allah’s mercy they both entered Paradise.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘The chain of this hadith is weak: it is transmitted through Rushdayn ibn Sa‘d, who is weak in his reports from Ibn An‘um, and Ibn An‘um al-Ifriqi is weak according to hadith scholars.’

‘Imran ibn Husayn reported that the Prophet said: ‘A group from my community will surely be brought out of the Fire through my intercession. They will be called the Jahannamiyyun (“the people of Hell”).’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’ Abu Raja’ al-‘Utaridi’s name was ‘Imran ibn Taym; it is also said, ibn Milhan.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘I looked into Paradise and saw that most of its people were poor. I looked into the Fire and saw that most of its people were women.’

‘Imran ibn Husayn reported that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘I looked into the Fire and saw that most of its people were women. I looked into Paradise and saw that most of its people were poor.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih. ‘Awf reports it from Abu Raja’ from ‘Imran ibn Husayn, while Ayyub reports it from Abu Raja’ from Ibn ‘Abbas. There is no objection to either chain, and it is possible that Abu Raja’ heard it from both of them. Others besides ‘Awf also narrated this hadith from Abu Raja’ from ‘Imran ibn Husayn.’

Every humble, unassuming person who, if he swore by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath. Shall I tell you who the people of the Fire are? Every harsh, coarse, conceited, arrogant person.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This hadith is hasan sahih.’
